Small-school G Kory Woodruff shines at pro day, 4 teams show interest
Remember Kory Woodruff, the big guard from Pittsburg State in Kansas who’s hoping to get a shot at playing in the NFL?
Since we last heard from him, Woodruff was hoping to put up good numbers at his school’s Pro Day, as he did not receive a Combine invitation. Sure enough, Woodruff put himself on the NFL map, as he measured 6-foot-4, 335 pounds and put up 29 reps in the bench press. All would have ranked him among the top players for his position at the Combine.
Overall, Woodruff’s Relative Athletic Score (RAS) of 8.53 is just ahead of TCU interior lineman Steve Avila’s 8.5 – and Avila is mentioned as a potential late first-rounder.
Kansas City, Philadelphia and Indianapolis all showed interest in Woodruff during his Pro Day workout. Word apparently has gotten out about how he performed, because he said the Los Angeles Chargers have contacted him since then.
Overall, though, Woodruff tells Fanspeak that he’s treating the draft just like any other days of the week.
“(I’lll be) working out and waiting on a call,” he said. “And, yes, I’ll be lining up workouts (if not drafted) and will be attending rookie mini-camp somewhere.

He’s currently ranked as the No. 230 prospect in the Fanspeak-Jake Rigdon big board, which puts him in seventh-round, priority free agent range.
