Trade Recap:

Trade A: Denver trades the 10th, 41st, 125th and 2020 3rd RD pick to the Jets for the 3rd overall pick.

-Broncos make a big move up here, but they land arguably the most talented player in this draft. Adding Williams to Denver’s defense could allow that unit to carry the team to the postseason. The Jets meanwhile were missing their 2nd round pick, so landing a 2nd and some extra picks helps them out. Also this allows them to take D.K. Metcalf at a draft position that makes more sense for them.

Trade B: Washington trades the 15th, 76th, 153rd and 2020 3rd RD pick to the Lions for the 8th overall pick.

-The Redskins make the move up to land their QB of the future with this deal at a reasonable cost. The Lions meanwhile move back and add extra picks and still land a high end offensive lineman to bolster their offense.

Trade C: Pittsburgh trades the 20th, 52nd and 192nd pick to the Packers for the 12th overall pick.

-The Steelers are desperate to replace Ryan Shazier and in a thin LB class, it’s worth it for them to move up in the draft. Landing Devin Bush here gives them the athletic playmaker in the middle of their defense that they need. The Packers filled their biggest needs during free agency so trading back and landing an extra 2nd rd pick is huge for them. They still land a very talented tight end in Fant by moving back.

Trade D: New York Giants trades the 17th, 95th, 171st, and 2020 3rd rd pick to the Dolphins for the 13th overall pick.

-The Giants might not be willing to use their 6th overall pick to address the QB position, but here they move up a few spots and still get their premier player earlier in the round as well. The Dolphins are clearly in rebuild mode so the extra picks including an extra 3rd next year is huge for them.

Trade E: New England trades the 32nd, 73rd and 246th picks to the Seahawks for the 21st pick overall.

-The Patriots need to find a way to replace Rob Gronkowski and could make the move here to land one of the top TEs in this class. The Seahawks are entering this draft with few picks and a number of needs. Adding an early 3rd round pick helps them a lot.

Trade F: L.A. Rams trade the 31st, 99th, and 133rd picks to the Raiders for the 24th overall pick

-The Rams need to replace John Sullivan in the middle of their offensive line and Bradbury is clearly the top center in this year’s class. The Raiders meanwhile pick up a few extra assets and still land a top player in Josh Jacobs at a position they need.

Trade G: San Francisco 49ers trade the 36th pick, 176th pick and 2020 3rd rd pick to the Chargers for the 28th overall pick.

-The 49ers move up to land a premier receiver to bolster their passing attack at a reasonable cost. The Chargers are a team with few needs so adding extra assets to improve their depth makes sense for them.
