Why the Redskins Should Consider Stockpiling Picks: Part 2
Offensive Players| Defensive Players
Defensive Line (3-4 ends and nose tackles) (15 guys)
-Not as pressing as some other needs, but there could be some real turnover among defensive line depth if Adam Carriker is cut for cap relief and Chris Baker or Kedric Golston aren’t retained. The Redskins could use better pass rush from the line as well so anyone who gets decent penetration should be on their watch list.

Outside Linebackers: (21 guys)
-When Brian Orakpo went down last year the Redskins pass rush went with him. While Rob Jackson had a nice season and made some huge plays, he still wasn’t able to come close to matching the impact of Orakpo because he struggled at his number 1 role rushing the passer. While Jackson will be back as a restricted free agent, he probably isn’t going to stay beyond that.

Inside Linebacker: (11 guys):
-If London Fletcher retires this becomes a priority, but if he does comeback then this may not be a need worth drafting, though Washington should still keep an eye on some of the later round talent.

Cornerback (23 guys):
-The Redskins only have three corners under contract who have seen actual game time, and one of those (DeAngelo Hall) is a possible cap casualty. Adding multiple corners would be a big reason why trading back makes so much sense. It’s not as deep as some other positions, but the Redskins should have plenty of options.

-The Redskins desperately need to revamp their safety position and could look to double-dip here even if they didn’t have some extra picks. It’s a very deep class which should allow the Redskins get a starting caliber guy early, and an upside guy later.
