Ohio State CB Shaun Wade reportedly leaning toward entering 2020 NFL draft
More names are starting to trickle out as underclassmen are trying to determine if they should declare early for the NFL draft.
Three prominent names to keep an eye on include Alabama offensive tackle Alex Leatherwood, Clemson linebacker/safety Isaiah Simmons and Ohio State cornerback Shaun Wade.
All are ranked among the top 65 players in the latest Fanspeak big board.
You can read about Simmons here.
Tony Pauline, draft analyst for Pro Football Network, says he was told all are thinking about entering the draft.
Wade is an interesting case, as the 6-foot-1, 194-pound junior is generally seen as a fringe first-round, mid-second round prospect. Pauline, meanwhile, has a lower grade on Wade.

“Simmons is a top-15 talent on my board. Leatherwood is a bottom-half of round one guy. I presently grade Wade as a third-round prospect, though I could see him moving into the second round,” Pauline wrote.
But The Athletic’s Dane Brugler pegs Wade as a first-rounder in his latest mock draft, going to the Dallas Cowboys at pick No. 21. The pick makes sense on many levels. First, former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer is mentioned as a potential replacement for current coach Jason Garrett if Garrett winds up getting fired at the end of the season. And, media reports say Dallas is unlikely to resign Pro Bowl cornerback Byron Jones.
“In the final year of his rookie deal, cornerback Byron Jones might be too expensive to keep in Dallas, which shoots cornerback toward the top of the Cowboys’ offseason wish list. In a lot of ways, Wade is a younger version of Jones on the field with his size, athletic profile and positional versatility.”
