Final Detroit Lions Mock Draft

April 25, 2013

Here is Fanspeak’s full, final 2013 Detroit Lions Mock Draft:

5. Detroit Lions – OT Lane Johnson, Oklahoma

About the Pick:   Johnson is a bit more raw than either Joeckel or Fisher, but he’s really come on this past season and offseason at the Senior Bowl and Combine. He won’t offer as much immediate impact, but he should be a good starter, and has the potential to eventually develop into an elite tackle. He’s extremely athletic and is right now more advanced as a pass blocker over a run blocker, but has been improving in closing the gap. He’s a top 15 talent in this draft.

Steve’s Take: The Lions are going to go one of two ways with this pick either adding an offensive tackle or a pass rusher. While this is a slight reach the Lions simply have to protect Matt Stafford if they have any chance of succeeding. Lane Johnson does just that.

36. Detroit Lions- DE Alex Okafor, Texas

65. Detroit Lions- CB Jordan Poyer, Oregon State

132. Detroit Lions (Compensatory)- OT Chris Faulk, LSU
