Scouts ‘excited by upside’ of Kansas OL Hakeem Adeniji

NFL Draft News
Hakeem Adeniji

At 6-foot-4, 302 pounds, he has good, not great, size for the offensive line.

He can play four positions along the line, the exception being at center.

And he didn’t come from a big school but has held his own against more-heralded competition.

Kansas offensive lineman Hakeem Adeniji might just be the most “Bill Belichick-type player” in the entire 2020 NFL draft.

While it’s unknown whether the Patriots have interest in Adeniji, he’s nonetheless a fast-rising prospect. All he’s done this year is follow up an all-conference senior season with a solid – and at times, dominating – showing at the Senior Bowl practices and games, followed by a solid Combine, followed by a solid Pro Day.

“Hakeem Adeniji looked good during offensive line drills and scouts are excited about his upside,” Pro Football Network NFL draft analyst Tony Pauline said. “Depending on which team you speak with, Adeniji projects to guard or either tackle spot at the next level.”

He’s been told that he could go as high as Day 2 of the draft, Benton Smith of KUSports reports.

Adeniji is the No. 87 overall prospect in the latest Fanspeak-Steve big board.
