Could Houston OT Josh Jones wind up in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft?
One player who’s seen his name among draft prospects is Houston offensive tackle Josh Jones, a 6-foot-7, 310 pound senior.
Jones’ named seemingly cropped up out of nowhere in recent weeks as more media and draft analysts started to take a closer look at him. Jones is a team captain who has started the last 24 games at left tackle, the longest starting streak on the team, and has 45 overall starts since his redshirt season in 2016.
And the accolades continue to roll in.
Jones, who’s accepted an invitation to the Senior Bowl, was recently tabbed as the No. 27 prospect overall in Pro Football Focus’ latest top 100 big board.
To put Jones’ ranking into perspective, PFF has him rated higher than Alabama’s Jedrick Wills (32), Texas’ Samuel Cosmi (33), Washington’s Trey Adams (72) and TCU’s Lucas Niang (75).
Jones is the No. 107 prospect in the latest On the Clock rankings.
