Part 2 – High Game Totals

Now that we have the NFL Schedule, we have information on bye weeks, strength of schedule (when played), and of course, the best ball playoff schedule (Weeks 15-17).

As we discussed Fanspeak Network’s Sibling Showdown, there are certain teams that we like better than others to target in terms of their best ball playoff schedules.

I’ve already covered the Best Ball Playoff Schedule for Weather/Dome Game Environments and pointed out which teams I liked most based on that factor.

Today, I’m covering high Vegas totals for the Best Ball Playoffs Schedule. Obviously, these totals will change based on injuries and news. But as look ahead lines, it is a tool we can use to look for potential shootouts.

We decided to not cover defensive matchups for various factors – defenses can be overhauled (good or bad), coaching changes, and of course injuries make it very difficult in May to know which teams will have the toughest defensive matchups in December. So we’ll lean into the look-ahead totals as the defensive matchup will be baked into the Vegas total.

Below is a chart with all the totals for the playoff weeks 15-17 for all the games. I highlighted green for any total 47 or above. I highlighted games at 46 or 46.5 in yellow. In today’s NFL, these are game environments that may offer a potential shootout or at least a strong total from one side.

FAVORITE TEAMS TO TARGET BASED ON PLAYOFF GAME TOTALS:

-Lions

-Texans

-Rams

-49ers

These four teams have high totals in all the best ball playoff weeks. But as you can see there are other teams like the Bears, Cowboys, Chiefs, Jaguars, Dolphins, and Jets that have high totals in two of the best ball playoff weeks. These are still teams that are good to target and you can pair them with teams that have a high total and/or game environment on the week that they do not.

For instance, you could pair a Dolphins stack with an Eagles stack, or any high total/good game environment for week 17. I’ll be writing about which teams pair well together in general and for best ball playoffs in the coming weeks.

But hopefully, this is a good starting point to get you thinking of teams to target in best ball playoffs.
