Reports: Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa’s hip has healed

It’s looking more and more like Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will still wind up being a top-5 pick in the 2020 NFL draft.

According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, Tagovailoa’s lastest CT scan shows that his fractured hip has healed, although he likely won’t be cleared for football activities for another month. Nick Shook of NFL.com says teams are bullish on Tagovailoa and still regard him as a “potential franchise-changing player.”

“With Joe Burrow considered as the top player in the upcoming draft, Tagovailoa occupies a majority of quarterback rankings as the second-best signal-caller in the draft,” Shook said. “His condition and continued journey back to full health should be monitored in the weeks and months ahead, of course, as he nears a draft in which it remains likely he’ll be selected with a first-round pick.”

Tagovailoa is expected to throw for teams during the evaluation process leading up to the draft.

He’s currently the No. 6 overall prospect in the latest Fanspeak-Steve big board.
