DAILY DISCUSSION: Kobe & the Lakers
February 22, 2012 in Uncategorized by Steve Shoup
The other night Kobe Bryant made controversial comments regarding Pau Gasol and potential trade talks. Then Bryant and Derek Fisher hold a team only meeting to discuss everything going on.
How much impact will all this drama have on the Lakers end result…their seed in playoffs and how they do there? Do you think Kobe was right to speak out about all the trade talks in support of Gasol?
Finally, do you think Gasol will indeed be traded or will he still be a Laker after the trade deadline?

The Lakers seem like they are on the verge of imploding in my opinion. Kobe’s been unhappy since Phil Jackson was replaced with Mike Brown. This trade stuff and the sniping going on between Bryant and the GM is not good. I thought they were going to bring in Gilbert Arenas after his workout went well and Kobe endorsing the move to management, but nothing happened. Not sure if they deal Gasol or not by the deadline.
Ron Artest is also having issues with the new coach and how he’s being used. The Lakers are sitting 5th out west, but only 2 games ahead of 9th place Portland. Not a lot of margin for error for a team in turmoil.
