Senior Bowl Postgame Interview

On the fact that the Senior Bowl experience is essentially a week long job interview with 32 different employers watching you and how that affects your mindset each day

For me, I just take it one day at a time. When you let yourself get stressed about all the stuff going on, it’s just going to put you in a bad mood, or whatever. So I just try to take a deep breath every once in a while and try to take everything slowly.

On what he feels he will bring to an NFL organization

You know, I’m very confident in my ability to be a leader and make plays. I feel like whatever team gets me or thinks they want me, I can jump in there and be a leader.

On the fact that in the NFL, defensive backs need to be versatile, dealing with different coverages, different schemes and how he thinks he will be able to fit into all those different roles

Luckily, I’ve been blessed with athletic ability. It’s something that I am very confident in.  All it’s going to take is a little work. Whatever they decide is the best fit for me and will be productive for the team, then that’s what I want to do.

On how playing on a very good defense at Ole Miss and playing in the always tough SEC has prepared him for the next level

To be able to lead a defense like that and to have the other players look up to you as a leader, I think that was the best preparation for me. Having ten other guys who were very good looking up to you and kind of depending on you to be their leader. I embraced it, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Going against the SEC, one of the best conferences in the nation, week after week, it’s only going to be better for me in the long run.

On who was the best player he ever went up against in college that he thinks helped make him a better football player

You know, for the first couple of years, Johnny Football was still in college. Going against him was always aggravating. Having to play against somebody who is that good, that athletic and his skills as a playmaker, every game and every rep made you better.
