Why I like this Draft:
The Broncos land a number of interesting prospects here and can add some nice pieces for their championship run. Roby has elite corner potential, but he’s also a bit raw. In Denver though that is fine because with their corner talent he won’t need to face a lot of top receivers early. Moncrief gives Denver another very good weapon and while they didn’t necessarily need it with the Sanders signing, when you have Peyton Manning you can never have too many weapons. Also, this is likely Welker’s last year in Denver so Sanders could slide over to the slot and Moncrief could be another big target on the outside. Guys like Billy Turner and Smallwood have a chance to develop into starters. Grabbing Michael Sam here is a good move. Sure he hasn’t been impressive in the workouts, but he’s got a great motor and should be an effective sub-package rusher.

Mock 2: Chris for the New Orleans Saints

Why I like this Mock:
The Saints don’t have a lot of picks, but I like what they do here. New Orleans needs to surround Drew Brees with weapons and last year they were lacking a little beyond Jimmy Graham. Already Darren Sproles and Lance Moore are gone, leaving Marcus Colston and Kenny Stills as the only real threats. The Saints could use another threat and Mathews would be the perfect option. He’s one of the more NFL ready receivers in the draft and would really boost the Saints offense. Later in the draft Dri Archer could help fill the Sproles role on this team. Also Travis Swanson would be a great pick-up to fill the center role. Defensively Jones and Desir are two really nice pick-ups who can bolster this team.

Why I like this Mock Draft:
The 49ers are in such a prime position in this draft that it is almost hard for them not to be successful. This was a non-trade mock, but still they managed to grab a number of top talents and restock this roster. Wide receivers Allen Robinson and Martivas Bryant give San Fran two high upside WR’s in case Michael Crabtree or Anquan Boldin leave via free agency. Robinson can also help this year to give the 49ers another weapon. Corners Jason Verett and Pierre Desir give the 49ers two guys who can play right away, and corner Aaron Colvin gives them a guy who can redshirt for a year. Yarwin Smallwood gives them some depth behind their ILB’s and extra insurance in case Bowman isn’t ready for the start of the season. Swanson gives them depth at center and he could challenge for a starting spot in a year or two. One of their best picks is that of Stephon Tuitt. Tuitt had a bit of a down Junior year, but his upside is immense. With Justin Smith getting up in age, Tuitt could help rotate with him for a year or two and then take over the starting role.
