Brandon Banks Injuries Are More Serious Than Previously Thought

Washington Commanders

Although I have been following the story of the stabbing of Brandon Banks, I assumed that his wounds weren’t serious and he’d be out of the hospital in a few days. Now after reading the latest story from the Washington Post, I’m beginning to get a little bit worried. The fact that doctors have a chest tube in him alone, says that this is at least a little serious. The report is the tube is there to prevent a collapsed lung, which is a pretty major medical condition.

Now from the sounds of it, these injuries aren’t going to be life threatening and likely won’t have any serious impact on his career, but it is a bit troubling that there has been so much disimformation out there. Now obviously the whole story isn’t known, but the fact that his agent has so publicly stated that these injuries were minor, when in fact they weren’t, is pretty poor management of this situation.

I wish Brandon the best and hope there are no more setbacks in his recovery. I do hope this event is a lesson for him, in understanding that as a professional football player, now a simple bar fight can turn into something very serious. Also, I hope he talks to his agent about misleading the public about the seriousness of his injuries. It might seem like a minor gripe, but you can’t ask Redskins Nation for your support, and then not be open and up front with them. I look forward to seeing number 16 electrifying the crowd again with his incredible returns next fall, HTTR, and Redskins Nation’s prayers are with you Brandon.
