Can anyone stop the Kansas City Chiefs from winning a 3-peat?
The Kansas City Chiefs stand on the brink of a dynasty. Winners of the last two Super Bowls, Patrick Mahomes and crew are aiming to become the first side in NFL history to win three successive Super Bowls.
As has often been the case whenever the Chiefs have returned from winning the Super Bowl, they have managed to keep the bulk of their roster together and will start the new season as the team everyone else will need to beat.
Like most seasons, there looks to be plenty of teams that will be hopeful of dethroning the Chiefs and in this guide we will take a closer look at who might be feeling the taste of confetti in February.
Buffalo Bills
The Buffalo Bills have been one of the dominant forces in the NFL ever since they drafted Josh Allen. The gunslinging quarterback has been able to lead the Bills consistently into the postseason but they have never been able to advance past Mahomes and the Chiefs.
It’s been an offseason of change in Buffalo, Stefon Diggs has a new home in Houston and experienced defensive backs Jordan Poyer and Tre’Davious White have also left for pastures new.
On the positive side, star defensive end Greg Rousseau has picked up his fifth year option and there is excitement around rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman.
Over the years the Bills have been a well rounded team but their championship window is steadily closing. Set to battle it out with Miami and the Jets for AFC East glory, the Bills will hope that this is the year where they finally win the franchise’s first Super Bowl.
Cincinnati Bengals
Ever since Joe Burrow came to town, the Cincinnati Bengals have been one of the best teams in the NFL.
Defeated in Super Bowl LVI, last season was tough for Cincy as they finished bottom of the AFC North and had to go without Joe Burrow who had his season cruelly curtailed by injury.
Now with a fourth place schedule ahead of them, Burrow back to full health and Ja’Marr Chase hoping to cement his claim as the number one receiver in the game. The Bengals will feel that their time is now.
With a roster that is capable of matching anyone in the NFL, the Bengals will hope to reclaim their spots as one of the top dogs in the conference.
Baltimore Ravens
Rewind to last season’s playoffs and the team that many felt could dethrone the Chiefs were the Baltimore Ravens.
With Lamar Jackson winning his second MVP title, fans in Baltimore were left devastated when they lost in the AFC Championship to the Chiefs.
Over the last few years the Ravens have been able to assemble an all-star cast. Mark Andrews is one of the best Tight-Ends in the game and the acquisition of Derrick Henry to sit alongside Jackson and the talented Zay Flowers should lead to the Ravens having one of the best offenses in the game.
As fans and analysts weigh their predictions for the Super Bowl, sports betting in Canada continues to grow in popularity. According to the experts at BettingTop10, The Ravens, with their strong roster, are likely to attract significant attention from Canadian bettors.
San Francisco 49ers
Ever since Kyle Shanahan took over the reigns at the San Faarancisco 49ers, Shanahan’s crew have been one of the dominant forces in the NFL and one of the best sides in the NFC.
Heading into this season no team has more to prove than the 49ers. Defeated in two of the last five Super Bowls, the current NFC Champions will be hoping to go one better this year and they look to have the roster to advance deep into the post season once more.
Whilst the future of Brandon Aiyuk is very much up in the air, Deebo Samuel, Brock Purdy, George Kittle, Christian McCaffery, Trent Williams and Fred Warner will all return and their schedule looks promising.
The 49ers are one of the best teams in the NFL, this season they will want to show it.
Green Bay Packers
If there is one thing that Green Bay Packers know how to do better than most in the NFL, it is drafting quarterbacks.
After Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, the Packers once again seem to have struck gold with Jordan Love.
Although Love got off to a rocky start, down the stretch he was nothing short of remarkable and the Packers were desperately unlucky not to advance to the NFC Championship.
Now with a year’s experience under his belt and with one of the youngest and most dynamic rosters in the league, the Packers have the ability to shock and could be one of the NFL’s surprise packages once more this season.
