Indiana Pacers continue positive season despite recent loss to the Mavericks

NBA Steve O Speak

There is no doubting it has been a difficult period for the NBA, alongside many other sports, as they look to deal with the complications of COVID, with spectators also yet to return. It has meant that clubs are having to deal with this and there is no doubting the negative impact this is playing world-wide. It has been a similar story for the Pacers, who are recently coming off a 124-112 loss at home to the Dallas Mavericks. This was a game they expected to win, so was a difficult result for the side and for fans. Many had been supporting them at the sites listed on Indiana-bet.com, following the recent bill that has now passed and allows locals to get involved in sports betting. This has led to many fans now supporting the Indiana Pacers for success this season, in what has been a fairly positive campaign to date.

The recent loss saw the side drop the opening quarter by 37 points to 28. It instantly put the side in a difficult position, if they were to take the victory. However, the Pacers then produced a 35-28 second quarter, which meant they went into the third quarter just a few points behind and with the game wide-open. The Pacers then picked up a 29-28 third quarter victory and went into the final quarter just one point behind the Mavericks and expecting a victory. This failed to materialise, with them producing a poor final quarter and the away side upping their game to a 31-20 finish in the fourth. It meant the game finished 124-112, with the Pacers slipping to a second consecutive defeat, following the previous heavy loss to the Clippers.

The defeat means that the Indiana Pacers have now slipped to fourth in the Eastern Conference but still with high hopes for the season ahead. At present they have won eight and lost six, with their away form being the strongest, as they have won four and lost just two, in comparison to 4-4 at home. They will now be expected to return to winning ways and are sure to again come in for support from fans. The side now have a number of upcoming matches, that includes back-to-back fixtures with the Raptors and then another set of back-to-back fixtures with the Hornets. These are both fixtures that the Pacers will be favourites for, so let’s hope they can return to winning ways.
