All roads now lead to a Tyson Fury v Anthony Joshua Unification bout in 2021

It had appeared that we would have to wait for an extended period of time to finally see champions Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua take each other on. But it now appears to be all roads leading to the much-anticipated clash between the pair in 2021. This fight will not take place without spectators in attendance, so it may also be a waiting game for when we fans are allowed back to sporting events, which we can only hope is the early period of 2021. With the lack of spectators at events, it has certainly helped other areas of the entertainment business. Gaming platforms have seen a real surge in their number of players, with fans picking up the WSOP promo code. This helps people get involved in exciting poker action, which has been great for people in lockdown, as it provides not only great entertainment but a means of socialising. However, let’s hope we can get back to live sporting events sooner than later, with playing on the tables of Vegas in the run up to fights part of the incredible experience of some fights for fans.

Tyson Fury was set to take on Deontay Wilder in a trilogy fight, as they had a rematch clause in the contract, following the second fight between the pair. However, the bout now appears to be off, which now opens up the opportunity for the mega British fight to take place sooner than later. Wilder’s manager Bob Arum has also backed up this claim, recently stating that the contract for the third fight has now expired, which will come as positive news for the Fury team.

Fury has now moved on from this match up and has said that he will be coming home to fight, with December being pencilled in for his next return. That will then set the 32-year-old to put his WBC on the line against Joshua in a unification bout, with the latter also set to defend his title in December. If both can then get through these fights, then we will finally see the pair take each other on to become the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis.

Fury will bring in a record of 30 wins and one draw to his next fight, while he remains unbeaten in his professional career. This is why he is regarded as the pound for pound best in the division. This includes victories over the likes of Dereck Chisora, Wladimir Klitschko and of course most recently Deontay Wilder. Fury will start as the betting favourite against Joshua, with much support on both sides.

Anthony Joshua on the other hand will first defend his title against challenger Kubrat Pulev on the 12th of December in London. This is a much-anticipated clash and could be a major test for Joshua. He will be expected to progress through with a stoppage and set up the blockbuster clash with Fury. Joshua currently has a record of 23 wins and one loss, with victories over the likes of Dillian Whyte, Wladimir Klitschko, Joseph Parker, Alexander Povetkin and most recently Andy Ruiz Jr.
