Parimatch Conducts E-sports match
Parimatch, one of the top names in E-sports, continues to climb the ladder on their way up to the number one bookmaker in the market! This year has been met with record numbers, including large prize pots and new league hosting the season 1 of Dota2 match. As the years pass and fandom continue to grow, so do the prize pools and competitors, making each year more exciting than the last.
The Dota2 league came with a strong following and high anticipation, calling for gamers of all levels to go head to head in hopes of taking a top spot in the ranks and collecting this year’s prize pool of $75,000. Both professional and rookie teams competed in both invitational and open qualifying rounds that narrowed down to the top 4 teams. The winners of each set of matches then faced off to become Dota2 champs and winners of the total prize pool. This year’s winners were the Virtus.Pro team who beat the HellRaisers squad in the final.
Not only were those participating anxious to set off; they were also watched and cheered on by millions of spectators that hit record numbers this year. 6 million views were reported with broadcasts reaching 36,000 people on average. Additional coverage of the finals was added this year, in 2 of the world’s top gaming markets – the USA and China. As the top 4 teams competed in a round-robin format, viewers increased stably, watching as their favorite team competes with other tournament participants. It was Virtus.Pro that took the prize of $40,000.
When commenting on the rising popularity of e-sports and the Dota 2 championship, in particular, in the CIS region, Maxim Maslov, CEO of Epic Esports Events, stated that his company’s mission was to allow talented players to develop, with new seasons hopefully bringing new e-sportsmen to the arena. The Dota2 league could see its highest participation yet and as for Parimatch, they announced big plans to develop their own league. Moreover, the increased prize pool of $100,000 may attract high attention to the tournament before the second season is even set to begin. This month will reveal the participants as qualification matches, letting the teams start preparing for the battle. Spectators will then have plenty of time to follow along throughout the tournament, as the main competition is said to take place in May 2020. This season will be one to watch, as the tournament promises to be hot, with a larger number of online and offline attendees and a higher prize pool.
