Who’s Most Likely to Win the 2019 Champions League?

Soccer Steve O Speak

With the final stages of the Champions League coming into view, football fans are set to be treated to yet another round of memorable football and fantastic moments as teams battle it out for the trophy, you can check out the odds on matches at Infogol. There have been some surprising turns in the tournament, with holders Real Madrid knocked out and Paris Saint-Germain feeling the wrath of Manchester United. And, for the first time since 2009, there are four English teams in the running for the win. With the title up for grabs, punters should look to these teams with the best odds when placing their bets for who will win the Champions League in 2019.

Manchester City

With odds of 9/4 to win, Manchester City have become strong favourites to win this season – yet to lift the European Cup, Pep Guardiola’s squad are strong and determined, making them a formidable force in the competition. Guardiola has enjoyed victory with this tournament during time with Barcelona, so he’ll be keen to repeat that success again. The Citizens haven’t ever won this trophy before and it’s been one of their primary goals since being taken over by new ownership over ten years ago – with more determination to win and a higher quality squad, 2019 could be their year.

Barcelona

Barcelona last one the tournament back in 2015 when they defeated Juventus 3-1, and the club are currently 10/3 to win again this season. With Messi as captain, the Catalan squad have secured their place in the quarter-finals and have been on excellent form this season. They topped Group B by six points, proving Messi’s statement at the start of the season that the team would do everything possible to win. The Barcelona captain has been on brilliant form, scoring eight goals and 11 assists so far this season, so he’s a great asset to the squad that could be their golden ticket to the finals.

Juventus

Juventus currently have odds of 10/3 to win following Ronaldo’s astounding €100 million transfer last summer. On the back of three European Cup wins, Ronaldo is well-equipped to help the Italian side defeat the competition. Although his goal-scoring was on better form last season, he still delivers when it counts and could well be the ingredient Juve need to snag the title. But whether it’s the hunger for success or just Juventus’ experience, they stand in a good position.

Liverpool

As last year’s runners-up in the competition, Liverpool have managed to hold on long enough to be in with a chance of winning and are priced 5/1 to win after they knocked out Bayern Munich in the last 16. Since showing Munich the door, they’ve proven that they have what it takes to reach the finals and have shown great confidence and skill. Although the Reds have gone from strength to strength under manager Klopp, they still haven’t added any silverware to their collection and will be keen to change that this season with the Champions League trophy.
