Discussion Question: Pitching Milestones-

Steve O Speak

Yesterday we saw a couple pitchers reach some various milestones: Tim Wakefield recorded his 200th win, Mariano Rivera notched his 600th save, and Justin Verlander got his 23rd win of the season, making him very likely to be the first pitcher in baseball to have 25 or more wins in a season since Bob Welch did it in 1990.

Now I’m not suggesting we debate what is the most impressive, but rather I thought it would be interesting to look at various pitching milestones, and how pitching has changed over time.
