Discussion Question: Should Pitchers be considered for the MVP Award?

Steve O Speak

Both Justin Verlander and Roy Halladay (among others) are not only pitching well enough to win the Cy Young award’s in their respective leagues, but they should be at the top of MVP voting as well. Unfortunately there is a question among a number of voters if pitchers should be in the discussion. Whether it is because they have a specific award, or because they only pitch every 5th day, there seems to be a prevailing trend toward not including them. I think if they are the best player in the league they deserve the MVP award. What do you guys think?
