Discussion Question: How bad did the refs screw up the end of the St. Johns vs Rutgers game?

Steve O Speak

We know that no one is perfect and have seen time and time again, refs make bad calls that effect the outcome of important games, but this was pretty bad. How do you miss two (three if you count the potential foul) calls like that at the end of the game? It’s just unacceptable to not make those calls down the stretch and they cost Rutgers a really good shot at tying the game. Now not calling the foul is one thing, I understand letting them play (though there was some contact there), but not calling the traveling or turnover out of bounds is just bizarre. You had two refs on the sideline there, yet some how they missed St. John’s Justin Brownlee tucking the ball like a football, or stepping out of bounds. It was a big time mistake, and one that ended an upset chance.

In my book I give their performance or lack their of a 8.89 out of 10 on the screwed up call meter, What do you guys think?
