Cavs Win Without Shaq, Who Could Miss 2 Months

Steve O Speak

While the Cavailers had no problem beating the New York Knicks last night without Shaq, who is out for the rest of the regular season, have some real concerns about their front court future. The loss of Shaq is devastating as not only could it knock the Cavs out of the best league record, but it could potentially knock them to the 2nd seed in the East. What’s even more troubling is that Cleveland still won’t be able to sign back Ilgauskas for another 3 weeks. Meaning the center spot will need to be held down by Varejao and power fowards until Big Z can return.

Even when the Cavs are at full strength again with Shaq and Big Z, it could present a problem chemistry wise if O’Neal isn’t back until the playoffs start. Also, in all likely hood Shaq won’t be 100% during the postseason, which will be problematic when Cleveland faces other top centers. So what do you think, will Shaq’s injury cost Cleveland their home court advantage and potentially their Championship?
