You’ve probably heard this before: The 2020 NFL draft is deep with receivers and defensive backs, but after that, it’s a weak year.

Au contraire, says an NFL draft writer for CBS.

“The pool of talent expected to be available right now looks deep,” writes Josh Edwards of CBS Sports, adding that there is elite talent at the top of the draft and depth into Day 3.

“The NFL is facing a shortage of quality offensive linemen, and last year’s draft class did nothing to help the cause,” Edwards writes. “Teams in the market this year will find several tantalizing options, specifically at offensive tackle.”

Fanspeak’s latest big board update includes eight offensive tackles in the top 50 and 14 in the top 100. Just missing the list was Oregon’s Calvin Throckmorton (105) and Houston’s Josh Jones (107), the latter of whom has seen his draft stock soar recently.

Other positions of depth in the 2020 draft class include running back, defensive tackle and potentially quarterback, Edwards says.
