San Diego Chargers Team Needs for 2013 NFL Draft
1. Offensive Tackle (x2)
2. Guard
3. Cornerback
4. Safety
5. Wide Receiver
6. Inside Linebacker
7. Outside Linebacker
8. Running Back
9. Quarterback depth
The Chargers have ignored their offensive line in recent years and have seen many of their starters succumb to injuries or leave as free agents. That has left quarterback Phillip Rivers running for his life these past two seasons, which has led to a sharp decline in his performance. The Chargers could use two starting tackles and a starting guard. Look for one of those positions to be the focus of their first round pick.
San Diego has seen their secondary play decline in recent years and could use a facelift at the position. They could use two new starters, one at corner and a safety to pair with Eric Weddle, their lone quality secondary player.
After those primary needs along the offensive line and in the secondary, the Chargers could look for long-term options to improve both their inside and outside linebackers, as well as receiver and running back positions.
