Kenny Vaccaro Scouting Report
Measureables:
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 214
Arm length: 32 3/4”
Hand: 10”
40 Time: 4.63
Pros:
- Very natural in coverage, can man up versus both wide receivers and tight ends.
- Can play either safety spot, though has more work in the box
- Instinctive safety in both coverage and taking angles to the ball carrier
- Good blitzer, picks his spots well and can take on a RB
- Displays good hands capable of plucking the ball away from a receiver.
- Is natural and fluid in changing directions and flipping his hips
- Has elite safety potential, and should be a perennial Pro Bowler
Cons:
- Needs more work as a centerfield safety
- Doesn’t possess great speed, which could limit him some.
- Can be too aggressive at times and may struggle early versus veteran quarterbacks
- Needs to wrap up better at times
Overall:
Vaccaro should be the first safety off the board and become an immediate starter at the next level. He’s smart, instinctive and has natural coverage abilities. Lack of elite speed may be a mild concern, but his instincts and talent should make up for it. In addition to a high ceiling, Vaccaro has a low floor and should be at least a good starting safety at the next level.
