Senior Bowl Previews: QBs and Skill Guys | Offensive Linemen | Defensive Front 7 | Secondary

Cornerbacks: Kindle Vildor, Troy Pride Jr., Michael Ojemudia, Lamar Jackson, Dane Jackson, A.J. Green, Kristian Fulton, Essang Bassey, Terrell Burgess, Darnay Holmes, Reggie Robinson II

– Strong solid group of corners in Mobile this year, led by LSU’s Kristian Fulton who projects as a first round pick. Among the other intriguing corners this year are Lamar Jackson, Troy Pride Jr. and Dane Jackson.

Fulton is coming off a national title win and is looking to help his stock even more with a strong Senior Bowl week. He possesses excellent size and speed, and just natural coverage ability. He fits in any defensive style, but is at his best in man or press coverage. The knock on him is his lack of interceptions, but he also didn’t get challenged too often because he was in such good coverage. A strong week here should lock him into being the 2nd corner taken and potentially a top 10 pick.

Lamar Jackson is a big physical corner who had a strong senior year and is potentially in the mix for a top 100 selection. He works best in man coverage and excels when he can play press and jam a receiver off the line. He struggles more versus quick, speedy receivers, but it’s easy to see him starting at the next level in the right system. Footwork drills and 1-on-1 match-ups will be key for him this week.

Dane Jackson started at corner the past three years at Pittsburgh, winning Honorable Mention All-ACC his Junior year and 2nd Team All-ACC his senior year. He’s got solid size and good athleticism. He profiles as a developmental starting outside corner. He didn’t have many interceptions in his career, but always seemed to be around the ball.

Pride was a two year starter at Notre Dame and showed excellent speed and quickness, and improving coverage ability. Pride also ran track for the Irish so he could be among the faster corners in this class. If he develops his technique some more he could be a starter.

Safeties: K’Von Wallace, Josh Metellus, Jared Mayden, Khaleke Hudson, Jalen Elliott, Kyle Dugger, Ashtyn Davis, Brian Cole II, Jeremy Chinn, Antoine Brooks Jr., Alohi Gilman

– Probably the thinnest position group on the defensive side of the ball. There might be just one top 100 prospect in this group, and after that it thins out pretty quickly.

Ashtyn Davis is the safety prospect with the most buzz heading into the week. He’s been moving up draft boards after a strong senior campaign where he showed good coverage skills. Davis has been a two year starter for Cal, but also has plenty of work on special teams leading the team in KO return yardage his Sophomore and Junior campaigns. Davis has struggled some in run support so, his instincts and tackling (especially in the game) will be things to watch this week.

Dugger is a small school safety prospect who will see by far his best level of competition this week. At Lenior Rhyne, Dugger was all over the field making plays because his size/speed was far superior to everyone else on the field. This week should give a good indication as to whether he has the athletic ability to stay at safety or if he’s a potential starter down the road.

Wallace is another safety to watch. He probably profiles best as a back-up/special teamer, but this week could change that perception. He did everything that was asked of him at Clemson and showed good coverage and tackling ability. He displays good instincts which help make up for not having elite athletic traits.
