Mock Draft with trades:

April 27th, 2015:

1 Tampa bay Buccaneers: QB Jameis Winston, FSU

2 Trade a: Tennessee Titans trade with the New York Jets: QB Marcus Mariota, Oregon

Why this deal gets made:

-Tennessee has one of the thinnest rosters in the NFL right now so while they could be tempted by a top QB prospect they could also trade back and stockpile picks to help with their rebuild. They don’t seem to be sold on Mariota so I think they would be willing to go back.

-New York is making a big splash to move up, but they need to ensure that no one jumps them at 6. New York didn’t have the offseason they had bringing in veterans like Brandon Marshall and Darrelle Revis to have Ryan Fitzpatrick be the answer under center. It’s a bold move, but that has been the Jets blueprint this offseason.

3 Jacksonville Jaguars: OLB Dante Fowler Jr., Florida

4 Oakland Raiders: DE Leonard Williams, USC

5 Trade b: Washington Redskins trade with the Cleveland Browns: WR Amari Cooper, Alabama

Why this deal gets made:

-Washington needs a complete overhaul so adding more assets can go a long way into fixing this roster. They have so many needs that they can jump down a few spots and still get a guy who could immediately help them.

-The Browns are in a tough spot, they have been burned with the Josh Gordon and Johnny Manizel off the field issues. they have to make a splash in this draft. Cleveland added Bowe and Hartline on the outside, but they could use a big play receiver which is where Cooper comes in.

6 Trade c: Tennesse Titans (via NYJ) trade with the San Diego Chargers: WR Kevin White, WVU

Why this deal gets made:

-Tennessee can continue to move back as the best players available are edge guys and that is the one area the Titans are generally set.

-The Chargers are another team that needs to make a splash. It’s rumored that Philip Rivers isn’t in a rush to sign an extension with the Chargers and part of his issue could be what he sees as a lack of weapons going forward for SD. Antonio Gates and Malcom Floyd are near the end of their careers, so Rivers needs more support to go along with Keenan Allen. White would offer that and would possibly give the Chargers the best assortment of weapons around Rivers as they make a playoff push.

7 Chicago Bears: OLB Vic Beasley

8 Atlanta Falcons: OLB Randy Gregory

9 New York Giants: OL La’el Collins

10 St. Louis Rams: OL Brandon Scherff

11 Minnesota Vikings: CB Trae Waynes, Michigan State

12 Washington Redskins (via Cle): OLB Shane Ray, Missouri

13 New Orleans Saints: OLB Alvin Dupree, Kentucky

14 Miami Dolphins: WR DeVante Parker, Louisville

15 Trade d, San Francisco 49ers trade with the Carolina Panthers: OT Andrus Peat, Stanford

Why this deal gets made:

-The 49ers have had some major defections this offseason and their roster is undergoing a major overhaul. Trading back the 49ers can still get a guy they like, while adding some extra picks.

-Carolina needs to get some serious protection for Cam Newton. Peat projects as a potential top LT and while this might be a slight reach they probably aren’t feeling confident that he will be there at 25.

16 Houston Texans: C Cameron Erving, FSU

17 Tennessee Titans (via SD): DT Danny Shelton, Washington

18 Kansas City Chiefs: DE Arik Armstead, Oregon

19 Cleveland Browns (via Buf): DT Eddie Goldman, FSU

20 Philadelphia Eagles: S Landon Collins, Alabama

21 Cincinnati Bengals: DT Malcom Brown, Texas

22 Pittsburgh Steelers: CB Marcus Peters, Washington

23 Detroit Lions: OT Jake Fisher, Oregon

24 Arizona Cardinals: OLB Eli Harold, UVA

25 San Francisco 49ers (via Car): ILB Eric Kendricks, UCLA

26 Baltimore Ravens: WR Jaelen Strong, Arizona State

27 Dallas Cowboys: DE Preston Smith, Mississippi State

28 Denver Broncos: OT T.J. Clemmings, Pittsburgh

29 Indianapolis Colts: OT Ereck Flowers, Miami

30 Green Bay Packers: ILB Denzel Perryman, Miami

31 New Orleans Saints (via Sea): CB Kevin Johnson, Wake Forest

32 New England Patriots: CB P.J. Williams, FSU
