2014 Senior Bowl Interviews: OT Morgan Moses
This interview was conducted with Morgan Moses (OT), Virginia at the 2014 Senior Bowl (practice).
On coming from the University of Virginia, a school that has had a tradition of producing some very good offensive linemen, and what it means to him to try and possibly be the next one in line
Definitely you think about those guys like D’Brickashaw (Ferguson), Eugene (Monroe), and Brandon Albert. It’s a great lineup. Just being able to be talked about with those names is an honor itself.
On whether he has talked to any former UVA guys about the draft process and if so, what advice they may have shared with him
Just to take my time and come out here and play ball like I know how to play ball, and everything will just fall in place.
On the best advice he received from Mike London and the UVA coaching staff about entering the draft process
Just to put myself in a position to succeed and to come out here and give it my all. Have no regrets about it.
On what are the top traits he thinks he will bring to an NFL team
I think I bring flexibility in being able to play right and left tackle. And to be able to do it very well. And also, I’ve been in multiple offenses so I know different schemes and different terminologies. And I learn quick so I think being able to come in and be able to get the gist of offenses is good for me.
On who was the best player from another team that he ever went up against and also the best he faced on his UVA team in practice
I would say from another team, probably Bjoern Werner from Florida State a couple of years ago. Just being able to go up against him and the great talent he is. His numbers in the NFL speaks volumes. And then from our team, I’d probably say Brent Urban, he’s another that’s here at the Senior Bowl. I think he brings a lot of upside to a 3-4 or a 4-3 defense. So to have him out here to compete and to represent Virginia is a great deal.
On what was the highlight of his UVA career
I would say beating Florida State at Florida State (2011). I think we were one of the first teams in the ACC to be able to beat Florida State and Miami in their home games. So being able to do that definitely was a highlight for me.
