Why I like it:
The Bears trade back here and land a really impressive draft class. At the top they fix one of their biggest needs in safety Calvin Pryor, who should be an immediate starter and a force in their secondary. With their first 2nd round pick the Bears splurge on Marqise Lee, the USC WR. This is not a major need by any stretch, but with having some extra picks, the Bears can take a value pick here. Lee would make the Bears 3 WR sets scary good and would further allow the Bears to succeed in offensive shootout type of games. In the third the Bears land rising corner Phillip Gaines to again help a secondary that is very much in transition. The Bears land a pair of quality defensive tackles with their next two picks in Kelcy Quarles and Will Sutton. Both players have really good upside and could develop into nice starters. Later in the draft the Bears add some interesting offensive depth options at RB, QB, and TE/WR, while adding further defensive depth as well.

Why I like this Draft:
Now I know that the first thing people will say is that a 19 pick NFL draft is unrealistic, and on some level there is some truth there. If the Texans made some of the initial trade backs to add some of the extra selections, they would probably look to package some of the late rounders together to jump up once or twice, or perhaps they’d consider trading for some future selections. Either way the Texans would probably look to end up with more like 14 or 15 selections, in a true stockpile scenario.
What this draft does show is the ridiculous depth of this class. Even in the 6th and 7th round the Texans are drafting promising players with upside and future potential. While the Texans might not be able to fit 19 players on their roster, quite a few could make their final 53 man roster (and the rest would compete for PS spots). Houston has some really good starters, but their depth isn’t too strong, so they could use a draft like this to stock up.
The value of this draft isn’t just about stockpiling talent though. The Texans might miss out on Clowney, but they still add quality talents like Manziel, Amaro, Easley, Borland and both Marcus and Chris Smith within the top 100 selections. That is a lot of nice new talent that this coaching staff can build around.

Why I like this Draft:
The Chiefs here do a nice job trading back in the first round to pick up some extra selections to help make up for their lack of a 2nd round pick. Kansas City focuses on the secondary and wide receiver help in this draft, but those are the things they need the most. When you have to play Peyton Manning twice a year (Philip Rivers isn’t too shabby either), you better have a secondary that can match up. Verett can be an immediate starter and a guy who can potentially negate Welker. Roverson, Johnson and Southward are likely depth picks this year, but all are intriguing guys down the road. Martavis Bryant and Jeff Janis give the Chiefs two quality receiver options of their own to develop. This is a big need area for the Chiefs and both Bryant and Janis could see time as rookies. Bryant is more of a project, but he could be utilized in certain scenarios.
