Why I like it:
-First off this is an On the Clock Premium mock and a nice trade back scenario for the Jaguars. Gus Bradley saw how the Seahawks built through the draft and this is the same approach here. Khalil Mack gives the Jags a bonafide stud who can play early downs at OLB and then become more of a pass rusher/blitzer on passing downs. While it seems like overkill with the Jaguars offseason so far (though this mock was done a few days ago) adding Mack, Trent Murphy, Daniel McCullers and Kareem Martin could make some sense. Seattle used their incredible depth and DL rotation to win the SB this year. So for the Jags to run a similar unit they need 7 or 8 guys who can contribute, and some of those guys obviously need to be cheaper. Sticking with the defense for a minute, I love the picks of Jimmie Ward and Pierre Desir, that is a pair of nice pick-ups for their secondary. Ward is a similar safety to Earl Thomas (not on his level of course) and Desir is that big physical corner that the Seahawks love to employ. These are the pieces Bradley needs to run his defense. On the offensive side of the ball a lot of value is in this draft as well. Garoppolo is a good value here and could develop into the future starter for the Jaguars (probably not till 2015). At running back Carlos Hyde and James Wilder Jr. give the Jags two physical backs to work with. Jeff Janis and Jake Murphy are two nice late round values at WR and TE. The pick-ups of Dozier and Stork are two solid values that help boost a very weak OL.

Why I like it:
-The top three picks make this a very strong draft. The Cowboys needed defensive line help even if they had kept Ware and re-signed Hatcher, now with both of those guys gone they are in a really bad situation. This draft goes a long way to fixing that right at the top. Aaron Donald should thrive in this Monte Kiffin defense and he will probably make people forget about Hatcher right from the start. Now Scott Crichton and Jackson Jeffcoat won’t make anyone forget about DeMarcus Ware, they should offer good pass rush ability as rookies. They might not be full time starters, but adding them to the mix should help quite a bit. Dozier is a nice pick-up to help the thin interior of the Cowboys offensive line. In the later rounds Dallas picks up nice depth in David Fales, Tyler Gaffney and Cody Latimer at the big three offensive positions. None may end up as starters, but they are nice cheap depth pick-ups. Finally, Sean Parker helps a thin Cowboys secondary from a depth perspective.

Why I like it:
-The Bears desperately need to focus on defense in this draft and that is exactly what we see here. While the Bears biggest need is on the front line, Justin Gilbert makes sense when your biggest concern is getting past Calvin Johnson and Jordy Nelson/Randall Cobb. Deone Bucannon also is another piece that boosts the Bears secondary and helps combat those top passing attacks in Green Bay and Detroit. After that 3 of the next 4 picks go to the defensive line. Martin, Jones and Reid might not start day one, but they should all help the rotation and they all fit the Bears needs. The offensive side gets ignored, but that’s okay given how much talent the Bears have on that side. Center Tyler Larsen is a nice pick-up given the age of starting center Roberto Garza. Colt Lyerla is a lotto ticket type of pick, if he hits the value could be huge (even though TE is not a huge need), but the deck is stacked against him. In this case it’s Lyerla’s maturity that has gotten in his own way so hopefully he learns to grow up.
