Analysis:
The Dallas Cowboys need to focus on addressing some needs with this draft, both in terms of starters and quality depth. Tony Romo gets a lot of flack, but the reality is the Cowboys have done a horrible job at protecting their star quarterback. That has to end if they want to be a dominant team. Chance Warmack would be an excellent addition for Dallas as their biggest weakness is on the interior. Chase Thomas would help ensure the Cowboys aren’t hurt too much if LB Anthony Spencer leaves as a free agent this offseason. Even if Spencer is retained, having some more pass rushers would hardly be a bad thing for the Cowboys. Running back DeMarco Murray has shown a lot of promise, but he’s also shown an inability to stay healthy. With Felix Jones a free agent, Dallas needs to ensure they have multiple quality options behind Murray. Some may question the Dion Sims pick, but he’d be a good number 2 TE, and could maybe replace Witten as the starter if he falls off in the coming years. Dallas could use some young safety depth, making Josh Evans a nice 5th round selection.
