Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns Mock Draft:

ROUND 1:

6. Cleveland Browns – DE Damontre Moore, Texas A&M

About the Pick: Moore has really come on this year, and has moved his way into top 10 to top 15 pick discussion. Moore is a natural pass rusher, and should be able to fit in both 3-4 and 4-3 alignments. He has both the speed to beat tackles to the edge, and the ability to get off blocks. He may not have the bulk to be a great run defender, but his speed and instincts will allow him to disrupt a number of runs.

Steve’s Take: The Browns need to get after the quarterback with greater consistency, so adding a top pass rusher like Moore would be a smart play. Cleveland has some offensive needs, but I think this high in the draft you go with impact.

ROUND 3:

68. Cleveland Browns – QB Tyler Bray, Tennessee

ROUND 4:

99. Cleveland Browns – G Gabe Jackson, Miss State

ROUND 6:

164. Cleveland Browns- OLB Meshank Williams, Kansas State

Analysis:

The Browns already used their 2nd round pick on WR Josh Gordon in a move that seems to be paying off quite nicely. When it comes to needs the Browns primary focus should be on pass rushers, and outside linebackers. A young quarterback could be an option as well, especially with a new staff. Damontre Moore would give the Browns that premier pass rusher that they lack. In the 3rd round adding a quarterback like Tyler Bray would be interesting given his nice size and big arm. He’s a developmental guy, but could be a nice pick-up for a year or two down the road if Brandon Weeden doesn’t workout.
