1. Kansas City- DT Star Lotulelei, Utah

-The Chiefs may betemptted for a quarterback, but passing on the best player is a risky move. A lot will be determined by what they do in free agency and who their coach/GM is at the time, but it’s hard to pass on a potential elite player.

2. Jacksonville- OLB JarvisJones, Georgia

-The Jaguars may consider a quarterback herewith Geno Smith, but they too could probably look at taking the top player on the board. Jarvis Jones is not only an elite talent, but he fills a major pass rushing need for the Jaguars. While some will question not taking the quarterback, if teams could redo tthe 2011 draft, would guys like Von Miller, Aldon Smith, and J.J. Watt go behind quarterbacks?

3. Cleveland- LB Manti Te’o Notre Dame

-Manti Te’o is well deserving of a top 5 selection, and adding him to this Browns defense could make them elite.

4. Carolina- DT John Hankins, OhioState

-The Panthers have a huge hole in their front line and they need to prioritize plugging it this offseason. The good news is with two elite tackles in the draft they should be able to land one of them. Hankins could be a force in the middle and team up with DE’s Charles Johnson and Greg Hardy to give the Panthers a formidable offensive line.

5. Oakland- LB Barkevious Mingo, LSU

-The Raiders could go a number of different directions with this pick, but Mingo is well worth a top 5 pick and would really add a lay-maker on defense.

6. Philadelphia- QB Geno Smith, WVU

-It’s clear the Michael Vick era is over in Philly, and with a new coaching staff the Eagles may not be willing to develop Nick Foles. With Geno Smith sliding down to the Eagles this pick is a no-brainer.

7. St. Louis- OT Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M

-The Rams are desperate to find protection for Sam Bradford, and luck out by nabbing the top offensive linemen in this draft.

8. Buffalo-DE Bjoren Werner, FSU

-The Mark Anderson experiment might quickly come to an end, meaning the Bills could be in the market for a new pass rusher. Werner gives them a pretty good one, and one who can pair with Mario Williams to bring the pressure.

9. San Diego- OT Jake Matthews, Texas A&M

-The Chargers just haven’t been able to protect Phillip Rivers this season, making offensive tackle one of their biggest needs. Matthews, is a RT in college but easily projects over to the left side.

10.Miami- WR Keenan Allen, Cal

Ryan Tannehill needs some weapons to throw to, and Keenan Allen is the top receiver in the draft making this an easy pick.

11. St. Louis (via Washington)-CB Dee Millner, Alabama

-The Rams invested heavily in corner this past year, but it’s still a major need. Millner could start opposite Finniegan and Janoris Jenkins could move inside.

12. New York Jets- G Chance Warmack, Alabama

-A lot of ways the Jets could go, but rebuilding this offensive line is a great start. Warmack is well worth a top 15 selection, and would be a nice pick up here for New York.

13. Tennessee- DT John Jenkins, Georgia

-The Titans defensive line could use some additional help, and Jenkins could be a big run stopper up the middle.

14. Arizona- QB Matt Barkley, USC

-This is a rough situation because the Cardinals are desperate for a quarterback, but Matt Barkley is sliding down draft boards. He may not be the finished product some other recent quarterbacks have been, but it is such a need position that someone will take him in the first round.

15. Detroit- CB Jonathan Banks, Miss. State

-The Lions secondary has been awful this year, so look for Detroit to shore it up with their first round pick.

16.Cincinnati- LB C.J. Mosley, Alabama

-Cincy can go a number of different directions with this pick, but replacing Rey Malugaga could be the best option. Mosley is a very good sideline-to-sideline linebacker, quite capable of covering tight ends at the next level.
