2012 NFL Mock Draft: 3rd Round 10/31
Round 1, Picks 17-32, Round 2, Round 3, Round 4, Draft Blog, NFL Draft Page
65. Miami Dolphins- OT Nate Potter, Boise State
The Dolphins invested in the quarterback, now they need to protect him.
66. Indianapolis Colts- DE Brandon Lindsey, Pittsburgh
The Colts need to find some DE help as Mathis and Freeney are both getting older (and Mathis is a free agent). Lindsey gives them a guy, who should immediately contribute on passing downs.
67. Denver Broncos- DT Sylvester Williams, UNC
The Broncos need to get some bodies in the interior, or their line will just never be right.
68. St. Louis Rams- OLB Don’ta Hightower, Alabama-
The Rams get a steal here in Hightower, who could project as a top 40 pick. He is a bit of a tweener, but I think he’d be a solid for for them at WLB.
69. Seattle Seahawks- WR Marvin McNutt, Iowa-
The Seahawks could use another weapon at WR, and McNutt is a guy with a lot of potential.
70. Jacksonville Jaguars- CB Xavier Rhodes, FSU
The Jags could use another big play corner, to round out their defense.
71. Arizona Cardinals- DE Mercilus Whitney, Illinois
The Cards need to find more of pass rush this offseason and Whitney has some nice potential as a rush linebacker.
72. Minnesota Vikings- FS Markell Martin, Oklahoma State
The Vikings need to add a young free safety to improve their secondary.
73. Washington Redskins- C Michael Brewster, Ohio State
The Redskins offensive line is just a mess right now. Brewster is a guy who could potentially start from day one.
74. Cleveland Browns- OLB Ronnell Lewis, Oklahoma
The Browns outside linebacker have just been bad this season. And while adding Brown was a start, this would be a great 2nd addition here.
75. Chicago Bears (via Carolina)– DE Vinny Curry, Marshall
The Bears could use a complement to Peppers in getting after the QB, and Curry is a nice value for this pick.
76. Kansas City Chiefs- TE Orson Charles, Georgia
The Chiefs could use an additional TE in their passing game.
77. Tennessee Titans- WR Kendall Wright, Baylor
The Titans could use another receiver as they look to add weapons for when Jake Locker is ready to take over.
78. Chicago Bears- S T.J. McDonald, USC
The Bears need a lot of secondary help, and McDonald is a player with a lot of upside.
79. Atlanta Flacons- RB Chris Polk, Washington
The Falcons can’t rely on Michael Turner forever, and Rodgers is more of a change of pace back.
80. Dallas Cowboys- FS Robert Lester, Alabama
The Cowboys secondary is a serious issue and Lester would be a nice upgrade.
81. Cincinnati Bengals- CB Coryell Judie, Texas A&M
The Bengals could use another quality corner making this a good pick for them.
82. New York Giants- SS Mark Barron, Alabama
The Giants could look for a young safety to replace Rolle with.
83. New York Jets- QB Kirk Cousins, Michigan State
The Jets need to think about adding a young QB in case Sanchez isn’t the long term answer.
84. Philadelphia Eagles-TE Coby Fleener, Stanford
The Eagles could look to add a young TE to replace Celek.
85. Buffalo Bills- OT Jeff Allen, Illinois
The Bills have done well this year with protecting Fitzpatrick, but they could use some depth here.
86. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- CB Cliff Harris, Oregon
Ronde Barber can’t play forever, meaning the Bucs need to find his replacement.
87. Houston Texans- SS Tony Dye, UCLA
The Texans need to keep building up that defense, if they want to be an annual playoff contender.
88. San Diego Chargers- DE Cam Johnson, UVA
The Chargers could use another solid DE, which is exactly what Johnson is.
89. Detroit Lions- CB Shaun Prater, Iowa
The Lions need a lot of help in the secondary, and Prater is a nice fit here.
90. San Francisco 49ers- OT Matt McCants, UAB
91. Baltimore Ravens- RB David Wilson, Virginia Tech
92. New Orleans- WR Rueban Randle, LSU
93. New England Patriots- DE Alex Okafor, Texas
94. Pittsburgh Steelers- RB Doug Martin, Boise State
95. Green Bay Packers- CB Brandon Boykin, Georgia
