Up, Down or Stay: Missouri’s Jordan Elliott called a top-20 prospect

Jordan Elliott

Jordan Elliott has enjoyed a steady rise up draft boards throughout the season and draft process.

And now the Missouri defensive lineman is being called “one of the most undervalued prospects in this entire draft class” by Pro Football Focus.

That’s due in part because of his size (6-foot-4, 302) and his steady progress at every level.

Elliott began his career at Texas, where he played in six games as a freshman reserve before missing six games with an MCL injury.

From there, Elliott joined his former Texas line coach, Brick Haley, at Missouri and sat out the 2017 season as a redshirt. Then, as a sophomore backup in 2018, he racked up 24 tackles, 8 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. Elliott finished his career with 44 tackles, 10 TFLs and 3 sacks while earning second-team Associated Press All-American honors.

PFF says Elliott is a top-20 prospect.

“He flashed a lot of potential in a limited role in 2018 by posting an 86.6 overall grade that ranked 17th at his position. Then, he proved he was an elite player as a starter in 2019 by producing a 92.4 overall grade that was the best at his position.

“He was the only Power-5 interior defensive lineman to produce an elite grade as both a pass-rusher and run-defender, proving to be the most consistent player at his position. Elliott’s tools aren’t elite or jaw-dropping, but his production is.”

While the top-20 is probably too high for Jordan, it’s hard to see him lasting past the middle of the second round.
