Several of the top prospects at Oklahoma, Wisconsin and Colorado did not participate in their school’s respective pro day as they recover from injury.

Oklahoma linebacker Kenneth Murray (6-foot-2, 241) suffered a minor hamstring injury while running the 40-yard dash at the Combine. He still managed to run a 4.52-second 40 before leaving with the injury. He also posted a 38-inch vertical leap, a 129-inch broad jump and put up 25 reps in the bench press.

Colorado wide receiver Laviska Shenault also didn’t participate in his school’s pro day. Shenault (6-1, 227) ran a 4.58 40 and had 17 reps in the bench press at the Combine, but he didn’t participate in any of the on-field drills. It was later announced that he would have surgery to repair a core muscle injury.

From a Feb. 29 ESPN report by Jeff Legwold:

“Teams have privately expressed some concern over Shenault’s injury history overall. This latest injury comes after surgeries on his shoulder and toe after the 2018 season.

Shenault has played through those injuries at times; he played nine games in 2018 to go along with 11 games this season.”

And Wisconsin center Tyler Biadasz (6-4, 314) also sat out his school’s pro day as he recovers from having his AC joint scoped, according to Sports Illustrated, via AllBadgers’ Jake Kocorowski.

Of the players who participated, here are some notable results:

  • Wisconsin LB Chris Orr (6-0, 225), who was not invited to the Combine, recorded a 4.65-second 40, a 4.08-second 20-yard shuttle, a 6.99-second three-cone drill and had a 36.5-inch vertical jump, according to AllBadgers. The short-shuttle time would have been the best time among LBs at the Combine, while his three-cone time would have ranked as the fifth-best time.

  • Oklahoma QB Jalen Hurts (6-1, 222) and WR CeeDee Lamb (6-2, 198) looked impressive in their drills, as neither one did anything to hurt their draft stock following a solid Combine performance for both.
