Teams that pair well together in Best Ball Playoffs

Last week I wrote about the top 10 teams I’m targeting most in Best Ball drafts at various price points. Last month I wrote about Best Ball Playoff schedules and which teams I liked best.

Now I want to combine it all together for teams that pair well together in drafts that can work well together in Best Ball playoffs.

For instance, the Miami Dolphins have a Week 17 game in Cleveland that many don’t love for Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins’ passing game. But the Dolphins have excellent Week 15 and Week 16 game environments vs. Houston and San Francisco. Pairing the Dolphins stack with any team (that does NOT have Week 6 bye) with a great Week 17 game environment like the Lions or Texans is something I like a lot.

Obviously, I’m taking into account bye weeks to not stack up too many teams on the same bye week. Also, these pairings could work for classic Underdog Fantasy contests like BBBM, or the Sprint (cumulative scoring in playoff weeks).

So here are my favorite team stacks from last week’s articles and the teams I like to stack with these teams. I also added in the Houston Texans and LA Rams as they are two of my favorite teams to target based on Best Ball Playoff schedule that I didn’t mention in top 10 teams.

 

EXPENSIVE STACKS:

1 – San Francisco 49ers:

Expensive Pairing:  Any team except Steelers (Week 9 Bye)

Value Pairing:  Any team except Steelers (Week 9 Bye)

Summary:  The 49ers have an elite Best Ball Playoff schedule, probably my favorite in the NFL. All three games during the playoffs are in San Francisco or Miami with high totals for potential shootouts. This is my favorite team stack for regular season and playoffs.

Any you like team outside of the Steelers (same bye week) can stack with the 49ers.

 

2 – Detroit Lions:

Expensive Pairing:  49ers, Chiefs, Texans

Mid Priced:  Dolphins, Rams, Cowboys

Value Pairing:  Jets

Summary:  The Lions have a great playoff schedule, but Week 16 @ Chicago could be dicey with the “Goff outdoors” narrative. The Lions running game would still be in play. But all these other teams at different price points have great game environments for Week 16.

 

 

3 – Kansas City Chiefs:

Expensive Pairing:  49ers, Lions, Texans, Ravens

Mid Priced:  Packers, Cardinals, Jaguars

Value Pairing:  Titans, Raiders

Summary:  While the Chiefs are outdoors the entire playoffs, they have high totals Week 15 and 16, but a lower game total Week 17 @ Pittsburgh. These teams pair well with excellent Week 17 game environments.

 

 

4 – Miami Dolphins:

Expensive Pairing:  49ers, Lions, Texans, Ravens

Mid Priced:  Packers, Cardinals, Jaguars

Value Pairing:  Titans, Raiders

Summary:  The exact same situation as the Chiefs, but even better game environments for Weeks 15 and 16. Week 17 in Cleveland as I mentioned in the intro could be an issue for the Miami passing game. So I especially like the passing game or stacks from these teams.

 

 

 

MID-PRICED STACKS:

5 – Dallas Cowboys:

Expensive Pairing:  Lions, Texans, 49ers

Mid Priced:  Bills, Rams, Packers, Dolphins, Jaguars, Bengals

Value Pairing:  Jets, Titans

Summary:  The Cowboys game environments and totals for Weeks 16 and 17 are nice, but we got to get them to the semi-finals. They play @ Carolina in Week 15 with a low total (potentially not much push back). So these teams have great Week 15 game environments.

 

6 – Green Bay Packers:

Expensive Pairing:  49ers, Chiefs, Texans

Mid Priced:  Dolphins, Rams, Cowboys

Value Pairing:  Jets

Summary:  Similar to the Lions, the Packers have great game environments Weeks 15 and 17, but Week 16 they are home at the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field vs. the Saints.

So all these other teams at different price points have great game environments for Week 16.

 

 

7 – Atlanta Falcons:

Expensive Pairing: Any team except Week 12 bye teams

Mid Priced: Any team except Week 12 bye teams

Value Pairing: Any team except Week 12 bye teams

Summary:  While the game totals are not exceptionally high for the Falcons playoff weeks, they are in a dome two of the three weeks and have easy defensive matchups on paper all three weeks. So I’m treating this similar to the 49ers, that they don’t have one bad game environment.

So I’ll stack any teams I like that are not Week 12 bye teams.

 

 

8 – New York Jets:

Expensive Pairing:  49ers, Lions, Texans, Ravens

Mid Priced:  Packers, Cardinals

Value Pairing:  Titans, Raiders

Summary:  Similar to the Chiefs and Dolphins, the Jets’ Weeks 15 and 16 game environments are great compared to Week 17 @ Buffalo. So here are the teams that have great Week 17 game environments that don’t have a Week 12 bye.

 

 

CHEAP VALUE STACKS:

9 – Tennesee Titans:

Expensive Pairing: Any team except Week 5 bye teams

Mid Priced: Any team except Week 5 bye teams

Value Pairing: Any team except Week 5 bye teams

Summary:  I love the Titans as a value stack in general, but honestly they have a pretty great playoff schedule with decent high totals in all three weeks. They also play in a dome vs. Indy week 16 and @ Jacksonville Week 17, which I like.

 

10- Los Angeles Chargers:

Expensive Pairing:  49ers, Texans, Ravens

Mid Priced:  Packers, Cardinals, Jaguars

Value Pairing:  Raiders

Summary:  The Chargers don’t have high totals any of the playoff weeks, but they are home in a dome Weeks 15 and 16. Week 17 they are @ New England with a low 41 point total. So I have paired them with teams with great Week 17 game environments (not on Week 5 bye).

 

 

OTHER TEAMS – EXCELLENT PLAYOFF SCHEDULE:

11 – Houston Texans:

Expensive Pairing: Any team except Week 14 bye teams

Mid Priced: Any team except Week 14 bye teams

Value Pairing: Any team except Week 14 bye teams

Summary:  The Texans and Rams were added because we like their playoff schedules as a whole.

 

12 – LA Rams:

Expensive Pairing: Any team except Week 6 bye teams

Mid Priced: Any team except Week 6 bye teams

Value Pairing: Any team except Week 6 bye teams

Summary:  The Texans and Rams were added because we like their playoff schedules as a whole.
