Start ‘Em/ Sit ‘Em for Week Fourteen

Fantasy Football Start 'em Sit 'em

Start ‘Em

Frank Gore

Frank Gore has had a quite season so far. Even so, he is still a very worthy starter in either a second running back or flex position. This weekend the 49ers are going up against the Oakland Raiders who just got stomped on by the St. Louis Rams. Rookie running back Tre Mason had a career day against this defense. Owners should have Gore in the lineup and hope for a similar day. That is not likely to happen, but there is a good chance of seeing a 100 plus yard rushing day out of the 49ers’ back.

Why wouldn't you start a solid running back against the Oakland Raiders?

Tre Mason

As was previously stated, Tre Mason was a beast in week thirteen against the Oakland Raiders. After a game like that, there really is no way a fantasy owner would want to sit him. This weekend the Rams are facing the Washington Redskins. The Redskins are not too much better than the Raiders against the run.

Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr. is definitely showing that he was worth the first round draft pick the Giants spent on him. He was angering fans before he even had a chance to play; coming into the 2014 season injured. However, since taking the field, Beckham has become Eli Manning’s favorite target. He is making fantasy owners completely forget about Victor Cruz. Beckham has a very favorable matchup this weekend against the Tennessee Titans. He will make a solid start.

Sit ‘Em

Trusting any wide receiver against the Patriots is just too hard to do.

Keenan Allen

It is going to be hard to trust starting anyone on the Chargers’ offense this weekend. The Chargers have to face the Patriots which is never a good thing for fantasy owners. The player owners should be most concerned about is Keenan Allen. The Patriots have done a good job at shutting down big time receivers this season and there is no reason to believe Allen will be the one to break that pattern.

Travis Kelce

Travis Kelce has emerged as one of the best sleepers of the season. Many fantasy owners thought he had a lot of potential coming into the season. Those who spent a very late round draft pick on him were greatly rewarded. However, this is one week where owners will not want to start him. The Kansas City Chiefs are going up against the Arizona Cardinals who are looking like they are going to make a solid run at a Super Bowl.

Philadelphia Eagles Team Defense

With all the preseason talk about how great Chip Kelly’s offense was, nobody would have ever figured the Eagles’ defense was going to be nearly as good as it is. The Eagles’ team defense was one of the hottest defenses to pickup off the waiver wire earlier this season and since then they have become a week in week out starter for many fantasy owners. These owners may want to think about going to waiver wire once again this weekend. The Eagles are going to be playing the Seattle Seahawks. Though the Seahawks may not have the scariest offense in the league, they do tend to put up enough points to hurt team defenses.
