Start ‘Em/ Sit ‘Em
Start ‘Em
Jay Cutler and the Bears’ are coming off a terrible performance against the Green Bay Packers. The good news is he and the rest of the offense is likely to bounce back this weekend. Cutler will be leading the charge against the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings have a good passing defense, but the Bears are getting desperate. Teams usually come out firing after being embarrassed the week before. Do not let last week keep you from starting Cutler.
Miami Dolphins Defense
The Miami Dolphins team defense has been invaluable to fantasy owners the past three weeks. They are just two weeks removed from shutting out Philip Rivers and the Chargers. This weekend they have a very favorable matchup with the Buffalo Bills who have a ton of injuries to key players on their offense.
Rashad Jennings
It looks like this will be the week Rashad Jennings finally returns to the playing field. He was expected to return from his MCL injury in week nine, but was inactive that week as well as week ten. During the time he has been out, rookie running back Andre Williams was forced to shoulder the load. That load proved too heavy for Williams and it is obvious Jennings will be the unquestioned workhorse once he returns. Though the Giants have a tough matchup against the 49ers, Jennings still looks to be a number two running back in all fantasy formats.
Sit ‘Em
Though the Dolphins’ defense may have a good matchup against the Buffalo Bills, the offensive players do not share that same luxury. Mike Wallace should be sat this weekend. Wallace has been able to inflate his fantasy numbers due to his ability to find the end zone. However, when he does not score he does not put up enough points to make him worth starting. It is tough to say without a doubt he will score in this game. With the fantasy playoffs coming up, many owners need to take the sure points to be certain they can remain in the hunt. Wallace just has too much risk going against him this weekend.
Dwayne Allen has been one of the biggest fantasy football surprises of the season. He very well could be the biggest surprise of all the tight ends this season. However, the Colts are playing the New England Patriots this weekend. The Patriots have been playing like the team we remember winning three Super Bowls. They are doing it with a balanced offensive attack led by Tom Brady and a stout defense. At this point not even great player put up great games against them. Allen is a good player. Good players have been getting shut down by this defense.
Andre Ellington took 18 carries last weekend against the St. Louis Rams. That does not seem bad until you see he only rushed 23 yard. He did save his fantasy day with a touchdown though. This weekend he is going up against arguably the best defense in the NFC, the Detroit Lions. He will be doing this without Carson Palmer who may be out for the remainder of the season. The Lions are going to want to focus on stopping the run in this game. Though it is likely Ellington will see a lot of carries, he may not be able to gain a ton of yards.
