I know the fantasy football season just ended a couple weeks ago, but it is never too early to start looking at next year’s fantasy draft.  To start the offseason I am going to give you five bold predictions about the quarterback position next year.

  1. Teddy Bridgewater Will Be A Stud Fantasy Quarterback

Bridgewater is being seen as the unanimous overall #1 pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.  The Houston Texans hold that spot and their roster is already loaded with talent.  Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins are monster wide receiver threats and with a quarterback like Bridgewater, they will put up huge numbers.  Not to mention when the Texans defense is healthy, they are a top 10 defense.

2.  EJ Manuel Will Only Get Better This Year

jmanzielmoneyLast year in the final 4 minutes of the first half and the final 4 minutes of the forth quarter, Manuel had a quarterback rating over 90.  Even though he only played in 10 games, Manuel showed signs of maturity and improvement during the year.  With Steve Johnson and the offseason improvement of Robert Woods, the Bills could have a very good wide receiving core for next year.

3.  Johnny Manziel Will Be Fantasy Gold.

In my latest mock draft I have Johnny Manziel going to the Cleveland Browns, which could be a good fit for him.  With Pro-Bowler Josh Gordon, tight end Jordan Cameron, and the emergence of Greg Little Manziel could have a great year with the Browns.  The roster already has above average talent, and the head coaching job is still available so I would not be surprised if they choose a head coach with an “athletic quarterback” background.

elimanning4.  Eli Manning Will Reemerge As A Viable Fantasy Quarterback

Eli Manning had possibly his worst season ever with the Giants this past year.  He threw for under 4,000 yards, only 18 touchdowns, and worst of all 27 interceptions.  Some of the blame needs to go to the offensive line that gave him no time at all, and that is what the Giants should go after in the draft.  If the offensive line can improve, Manning will have the time to throw the ball to Cruz, Randle, and if Nicks does not resign, than Jernigan will be in that role.

5.  Tom Brady Will Throw 50+ Touchdowns Next Year.

Peyton Manning had the best season for a quarterback ever and Tom Brady’s record for touchdowns thrown in a season is broken.  Brady may not have the best receivers around him, but next year with an improved offensive line Brady could be lethal.  Especially with a full offseason with his receiving core it will only improve.
