Early Look: Fantasy Football Rookie Watch

Fantasy Football Fantasy Football Projections

While the NFL Draft is fresh in our head, let’s discuss which rookies might be worth drafting early this year. Now i know most of the time most fantasy owners are cautious about drafting rookies, because quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers alike aren’t necessarily fantasy stars their first season.

So which rookies might be worth drafting early this year?

QUARTERBACKS:

None – Judging by the fact that only 1 quarterback was drafted in the first round, that’s the best sign. We don’t even know which rookie QBs will start this year. And the ones that do, most likely will not have instant success like the rookie QBs last year. This may be known as the year of the back-up QB draft.

RUNNING BACKS:

Giovani Bernard We were higher on Bernard than most, and we still may be. Bernard can make an impact with this Bengals running back depth chart.

Montee Ball – What a great fit this is in Denver with Manning & company. That passing attack will allow Ball to pick-up big yardage and a bunch of touchdowns.

WIDE RECEIVERS:

Tavon Austin The Rams got their weapon and the various ways he can get yards or go the distance to the house. So he’s worth taking an early risk on.

Robert Woods This may be the most NFL-ready wide receiver for this draft. And being the most NFL ready means running good routes, getting on the field more and getting more targets, which all lead to fantasy points.

Keenan Allen The Chargers got a steal getting Allen in the third round, as we had a first round grade on him. Phillip Rivers needs more weapons and Allen can be that guy to make an immediate impact in his first year.
