OVERALL LINEUP STRATEGY FOR EARLY ONLY?
STEVE:
With three games and essentially three different narratives out there, I think the easiest way to look at this is game by game:
Steelers vs Bills:
*Editors’ note: written before game was moved but conditions are likely still bad.
Buffalo is the clear heavy favorite and the weather doesn’t look promising in Buffalo either. This has Steelers ownership down across the board and top Bills receiver Diggs lost in the mix. While Allen, Cook, and Shakir are all fine plays, I don’t mind going to Diggs and Kincaid. On the Steelers side, I definitely wouldn’t overstack, but either RB, Johnson, or Pickens are worth taking shots on. Even Pat Friermuth at TE could be a solid option.
Packers vs Cowboys:
Everyone wants the Dak-Lamb stack, and is fine adding in Ferguson and Cooks. I also like having Pollard as part of the stack, the Cowboys offense can put up 4-6 TDs easily, and you might want a full-game stack here. The Cowboys’ offense at home has been as close to perfect as it gets this season. So having as much Dallas exposure makes sense.
From the Packers’ side, Jordan Love would be a nice contrarian option, but I’m mainly interested in the pass catchers. Likely one of the Packers pass catchers have a good day, with Jayden Reed the most likely option. Doubs, Wicks, and Melton all could be worth taking shots on if Christian Watson does end up getting ruled out. I realize AJ Dillon won’t be there, but Aaron Jones is a bit too high-owned for me to consider.
Rams vs Lions:
For the Lions side, you can make a case on anyone (and that could include LaPorta if he does end up playing), both RBs are in play (but give Monty at 1/3 the ownership), ASB, Williams, and Reynolds at WR, and whatever TEs they have active. Jared Goff doesn’t have the upside of Allen or Dak, but he’s a fine play as well.
For the Rams Stafford is similar to Goff as a good 2nd tier QB, but might not get you 30 points. Kyren Williams has a tough match-up, but his usage still keeps him in the mix. Mainly though I’m focused on the three receivers Puka, Kupp, and Robinson. Both Puka and Kupp could be in line to feast vs a bad Lions secondary. Robinson has really stepped up as the team’s 3rd WR down the stretch. In a potential shoot-out game all of them are well in play.
MEG:
I’m basically still fading the Steelers/Bills game outside of both defenses. There are too many ceiling plays for these players to dodge who are playing in pristine indoor conditions on Sunday. Even if it’s slightly better Monday afternoon, they are still going to be playing in adverse conditions and wind in Buffalo. I don’t see much ceiling and hoping Buffalo’s offense is just spread out. The only other piece from that game I like is Najee Harris as the Steelers’ workhorse in this weather.
I love stacking up the Rams/Lions game more. However, Dak is still my favorite QB stack on the board. I’ll run some Stafford lineups as well. I will be trying to jam in Lamb/St. Brown in lineups together and making it work from there. Both their floor/ceiling combo is too much to ignore. I also love the cheap wide receivers in the Rams/Lions game. I like mixing in Jameson Williams, Josh Reynolds or Demarcus Robinson for value.
Good luck everyone!
