FAVORITE SHORT SLATE STRATEGY FOR THIS THANKSGIVING SLATE?

STEVE:

Going overweight on a game and not letting ownership dictate decisions as much

MEG:

As Steve said, I’ll probably overstack and onslaught the Washington/Dallas game. I’ll also be open to unique constructions like 2 RBs from the same team, 2 TEs builds, a QB/RB pairing, etc.

TOP 3 VALUE PLAYS (ANY POSITION)?

STEVE:

Tucker Kraft, Brandin Cooks, Zach Charbonnet

MEG:

Tucker Kraft, Jameson Williams, Zach Charbonnet and AJ Dillon if necessary

TOP 3 CONTRARIAN PLAYS (ANY POSITION)?

STEVE:

MEG:

TOP 3 FADES (20% OWNERSHIP OR HIGHER)?

STEVE:

Christian Watson, DK Metcalf, Brandon Aiyuk (might sprinkle, but will be well underweight)

MEG:

Christian Watson, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, DK Metcalf

FAVORITE DEFENSE?

STEVE:

Cowboys

MEG:

Cowboys and 49ers

OVERALL LINEUP STRATEGY AND SUMMARY:

STEVE:

Look it’s simple we know the game we want to target, the Cowboys vs the Commanders’ terrible defense. Then add any Lions or 49ers that can fit around them. Washington’s defense has basically made every offense look like a top-tier unit this season, so now facing an actual top-tier unit in the Cowboys this game could see quite a few points scored. Though the Cowboys’ defense is very good, Washington’s offense has some firepower to score as well, so maybe there is enough pushback to actually keep the Dallas starters in the game all 4 quarters. Even if that’s not the case on a 3-game slate that might not matter.

I love Prescott, Lamb, Cooks, and Ferguson, but don’t forget about Tony Pollard as well. Washington has given up pretty big games to Barkley, Walker, and Stevenson in the last three games, so that trend could continue here. The Commanders don’t have linebackers who can cover Pollard out of the backfield, so he can be a good stacking piece with Prescott. As for bringbacks, Brian Robinson should get almost all the RB work which makes him attractive, and I think Logan Thomas could be a solid security blanket. You can try to guess on McLaurin, Dotson, and Samuel, but it’s anyone’s guess.

For the other two games, in the Lions both Detroit RBs are well in play, but it’s interesting that Montgomery is projected to be so much lower owned. Yes, Gibbs has the larger receiving role, but Montgomery has a little, and he could still have a 2 TD day that outshines the rookie. He makes a great leverage option in this 3 game slate.

ASB and LaPorta are fine targets if you are pivoting away from Lamb or Kittle at the top of their respective positions. If you want a cheap receiver Williams or Reynolds offer some big play ability on limited targets. It won’t do much for a main slate, but in only 3 games maybe they get 10-12 points at a super low price.

The Packers are coming in pretty banged up, which does open up some intriguing TE value in rookie Tucker Kraft who will be the minimum at $2,500. Green Bay is now thin at the position so he should play every snap in his first start. Guessing which Packers WR can be tough, but they are priced at a point that they fit builds that you probably will need to grab one. Jayden Reed is the best option, even though he’s a little banged up, but Romeo Doubs is close behind. A.J. Dillion should get most of the RB work at a reasonable price, but the Packers haven’t produced on the ground all season.

In the 49ers game, McCaffrey is the clear spend-up option at RB, and a priority play regardless of where his ownership is. The 49ers offense as a whole can be a full stacking option, and next to the Cowboys is probably your best option. Kittle has been playing excellent and has been a top TE on full slates so he could massively crush this short slate. Purdy has been playing at a high level, so if Prescott doesn’t have a massive game, he could be the QB that you need. Both Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk are viable options, but I prefer Samuel.

As for the Seahawks, it’s a bit tougher as they are banged up with Walker out, Geno Smith less than 100%, and maybe Metcalf not able to fully play. Charbonnet and Lockett are two guys I think you can still play given their price, and perhaps JSN has a good game with Metcalf limited or out, but I wouldn’t want to go overboard here.

MEG:

Similar to Steve, I’m going to overstack the Washington/Dallas game in various different ways. My priority spends are CeeDee Lamb and Christian McCaffery. I’m going to do my best to get those 2 around the Washington/Dallas game as much as possible and with value pieces and Lions where I can.

I will do some Purdy stacks as well too. I like a lot of Lions pieces’ but David Montgomery is probably the one I’d use the most.

Should be a fun slate…good luck!
