OVERALL LINEUP STRATEGY AND SUMMARY:
STEVE:
This is a fun week with a couple of games that could shoot out and a lot of spots that have value. The Chargers/Lions, Bengals/Texans, and Seahawks/Commanders are the three games that feel they could push the envelope, and I will mainly focus most of my line-ups. Now there are some key notable players out or questionable in these games so we will have to keep an eye right up to Sunday morning. It has opened up some more value plays and gives us a good indication of where ownership will condense this week.
Of all the games though I do want to find ways to play that Chargers and Lions match-up the most. I see a game with two bright young offensive coordinators and offenses that are filled with enough talent to challenge the opposing defense. It’s an expensive stack, but it really could pay off, and you can find some lower-owned options in the game as well.
I’m a bit surprised by how low Montgomery is in this match-up, I know he will split work with Gibbs, but he has a lot of TD equity, and he could have a multi-TD game with still 15+ carries and a couple targets at 1-2% ownership.
I also can’t figure out why both Mike Evans and D.K. Metcalf are projected to be so low-owned. Evans didn’t have a TD last week, but still had a decent amount of yards and targets and faces a Titans secondary that has been picked on all season. Metcalf is in an even better spot, as the Commanders’ secondary has been a get-right spot for basically everyone this year. These are leverage spots targeting guys who have the potential to blow the doors off this slate.
Overall I want to mainly focus on a couple of teams outside of those three games, but I do think this could be a week to pay a little more for a defense. The Cowboys will be very popular, but I like paying a bit less and going with the Steelers against the Packers. Jordan Love has struggled considerably this year, and the Steelers pass rush can create points on their own. They probably won’t carry a lot of ownership, and could be a way to really separate this week.
MEG:
I agree with a lot of Steve’s points. I will mostly fade the Bengals game and all that ownership outside of Mixon, Boyd and occasionally punting down with Irwin. I like focusing on the Lions/Chargers game. I also don’t mind stacking the Seahawks/Commanders, Bucs/Titans, or even Falcons/Cardinals with cheap QB/WR stacks. That will allow me to get mini stacks from Lions/Chargers and the other games I mentioned that are not in the QB stack.
I’m trying to decide how much Cowboys and who to play. We know some Cowboys will get there in a likely blowout, I’m still trying to decide who to focus on. I may run a Cowboys onslaught on the 4 pm/afternoon slate too.
Good luck this week!
