OVERALL LINEUP STRATEGY AND SUMMARY:

STEVE:

There is one key game to focus on in the Cowboys at the Eagles, and then it’s just picking your spots. So many other teams are playing backup QBs or QBs coming back from injuries that might not be 100%. You may catch them playing at a high level or they may have a lot of rust from a long layoff. I think there is a lot of risk with a lot of various offenses this week on this main slate. My QB pool will basically consist of Hurts, Prescott, Lamar Jackson, Sam Howell, and Mac Jones.

The Washington/ New England game I think has some sneaky shootout potential as neither defense seems overly competent right now. The Patriots are missing a number of key defensive starters, and the Commanders just traded away a pair of top Edge rushers. We’ve seen both Howell and Jones actually produce when pushed and given some time, and both of those factors can be in play this week. New England is pretty devoid of offensive talent right now, but honestly, that hasn’t been the issue for Washington’s defense. Everyone is making them look silly through the air.

I also do like this week because I think there are some intriguing clear pivots off the chalk that people just don’t seem to want to play. Davante Adams is going to be a focal point of the Raiders offense and rookie QB Aidan O’Connell, yet he’s not likely to crack 5% ownership vs a bad Giants secondary. Garrett Wilson got 100 yards last week in bad weather, why can’t Adams do that this week? Shaheed, Cooks, and Dotson are going to be in the 2-5% ownership range while the top WRs on their respective teams will be 20%-30%. The match-up is just as good for all of them, and it’s a fantastic way to make a line-up more unique.

For me the biggest key though will be being overweight on Alvin Kamara, and with him the Saints’ defense. Kamara’s usage is on par with anyone in the league, but on a week where so many top-backs are on bye or have island games, he sticks out as the elite option. His ownership will be high, but I want to just be way over the field on him. And to help make my line-up more unique, I’ll pair him a lot of the times with his more expensive defense which is in a great spot, but likely very low-owned.
