LINEUP STRATEGY:
STEVE:
On the Washington side, it’s tough to find many options we don’t like at this point. Sam Howell, Brian Robinson, and Terry McLaurin all look like great plays. Jahan Dotson looks like he’s healthy and he’s got a fantastic match-up and looks poised for a breakout. Logan Thomas has been highly involved when he’s on the field.
The Washington defense we know can get after the QB, and obviously faces a turnover-prone QB who takes a lot of sacks. Curtis Samuel‘s status is still up in the air, but he’s probably trending to play. If he does, then Dyami Brown probably won’t play enough to be more than a dart through. Same with Cole Turner or John Bates at TE.
I do think Antonio Gibson is worth a look, I’m guessing his ownership will be low, and the price is nice. On DK at full point PPR, if he cobbles together 4-6 catches, and maybe gets a TD, you could be looking at what you need for a winner.
For the Bears there definitely aren’t as many options, but finding the right ones to fit is going to be key. Justin Fields always is in play, even with his high number of turnovers, I’ll probably play him less in the captain but still have him in a fair share. Both D.J. Moore and Cole Kmet have been quality targets for Fields all season, even if he doesn’t have a major passing game, those are the two who can get there are sheer raw points.
Khalil Herbert finally got a big fantasy week last week vs. the Broncos, but is it repeatable? Probably not against this Washington defensive front. The whole Roschon Johnson is a passing game weapon narrative should be out the window at this point, as he’s had all of 5 targets since week 1 of the season. Darnell Mooney saw his most targets and had his most yards of the season with Chase Claypool out last week, so he’s at least playable now, but it feels thin. If you need any more savings from Chicago you can go down to their kicker, Cairo Santos. Other than that there isn’t much to like.

Warning…Washington Homer Alert! Both Steve and I grew up diehard Washington fans. But I think even from an unbiased perspective, Washington is the better team as the home favorite. Like Steve, I like a lot of the Washington pieces.
I’m not buying into one good Justin Fields passing game. I do think he can have the floor needed and Fields, DJ Moore and Cole Kmet are really the only Bears I’m considering. I’ll be running mostly 5-1 Washington lineups and picking one of the those Bears’ players.
I don’t love the value plays, so I’ll play some Washington defense and/or kicker as well as part of my Washington 5-1 builds.
Good luck tonight! Go Washington!
