DraftKings 2-Game Slate Strategy Survey

Daily Fantasy

Every Monday we’ll break down the DraftKings Showdown slate. You can always find all our Daily Fantasy content here! But tonight we have a fun 2-game short slate on DraftKings. I love DraftKings short slate strategy!

So we are breaking down top stacks, values, contrarian plays, fades, and more in this survey format between Steve and myself. We both love DraftKings short slate strategy so it’s fun to analyze the different angles for short slates.

Good luck!

OVERALL SHORT SLATE STRATEGY FOR TONIGHT?

STEVE:

I’m going to play this two-game slate with eating the Nick Chubb chalk, but being lower on the rest of the Browns. I know Watson has slate-breaking potential, but I’ll mainly play Derek Carr and Kenny Pickett at QB, and stacking up their cheap weapons.

I also feel that while the Saints’ defense is the best play vs. a rookie QB, the Steelers are interesting as well. They might be 15-20% owned vs. 30-35% like the Saints and Browns, and this is a defense that has one of the best pass rushers in the league in T.J. Watt starting against a rookie RT, and no one wants to play them. Playing a RB in the Flex is likely to be popular so 4 WR builds will be a bit more unique, but definitely more risky. I will only do that in large field formats.

MEG:

I love playing short slates on DraftKings and being unique with short slate strategy. I think short slates like tonight give you permission to break “rules” and get creative with DraftKings lineup building. A few strategies I like to consider for short slates are overstacking one game, overstacking one team (onslaught if it makes sense), pivoting off massive ownership, or playing a unique player that should be under-owned (value or TE) are a few strategies I like.

So tonight I like playing volume players like Nick Chubb, Najee Harris, and Chris Olave despite high ownership. Then I’ll get ownership leverage with some of the lower-owned plays we mentioned above like Allen Robinson, Calvin Austin and I really don’t mind targeting a cheap low-owned TE on this slate. TEs like Connor Heyward or Hunter Bryant got similar targets to Pat Friermuth and David Njoku respectively. I won’t do that in every lineup, but it’s a strategy I’ll use some.

Even though the Browns’ defense is tough, I’m going back to stacking up Kenny Pickett and the Steelers. Especially with WR Diontae Johnson out, we also have cheap and low-owned stacks available on the Steelers.

Good luck tonight everyone!
