Carter began his career with the Tennessee Volunteers. As a true freshman in 2024, he earned SEC All-Freshman Team honors after leading the conference with a stellar 16.5-yard punt return average and starting the final five games of the regular season at the STAR position. Following a disciplinary issue where he failed to show up for a November 2025 homecoming game against New Mexico State, head coach Josh Heupel dismissed Carter from the Tennessee Volunteers. Carter subsequently announced on social media that he was dealing with an injury and intended to enter the transfer portal. Carter's two-way playing capabilities fit into his new team.

Weigh the community's read: Fanspeak Consensus rank, position rank, ADP, mock-draft volume, hype, and the NFL team each prospect gets drafted to most.
Boo Carter and DJ McKinney are compared here on Fanspeak's 2027 NFL Draft data — body measurements, position-relevant college production, the community consensus big board, average draft position across thousands of mock drafts, and how often each prospect shows up in those mocks. Rather than one scout's take, the matchup reflects where the draft community as a whole values each player.
Consensus rank is the cleanest single signal: a lower number means the crowd boards the prospect earlier. ADP layers in mock-draft behavior, and mock-draft volume tells you which prospect the community is paying attention to. The stat comparison checks the winner of each metric.
1st in solos per game over his career. Dylahn Jordan McKinney will play in 2026 for Notre Dame. He previously played for the Oklahoma State Cowboys and Colorado Buffaloes. Spent 2 yrs at Sam Houston as a RB; now this is his first year at Colorado. Has size and oodles of length to interfere with your QB's best throws. He played opposite Travis Hunter last year. Best Big12 CB who's top five in the size-speed department. Very nice interview.
