Steve Shoup

Steve Shoup grew up and lives in Northern VA. He is a diehard Washington fan, but is more realistic than his sister Megan.

He grew up following the NFL Draft since he was a kid and then became obsessed with the NFL offseason. So much so that he created Fanspeak’s On the Clock mock draft simulator and Manage the Cap free agency simulator. His love for the NFL offseason fed right into his love for fantasy football.

Steve has decades of experience with Redraft fantasy leagues. He also has several years of experience with Dynasty fantasy leagues as well. More recently he has studied and actively played in NFL Best Ball fantasy leagues. Steve also plays NFL DFS and has several wins and top 10 finishes in tournaments on DraftKings over the past 9 years.

He will be writing about the NFL Draft, Free Agency, Fantasy Football (Redraft and Dynasty), Best Ball, and NFL DFS year around. You can follow Steve on Twitter @steveospeak.

Taking advantage of uncertain WR Rooms: NFC East and North

New York Giants: Malik Nabers (ADP: 27), Wan'Dale Robinson (ADP: 167), Darius Slayton (ADP: 205.1), Jalin Hyatt (ADP: 211.9) Nabers: Nabers is a bit too high priced given the concerns of the Giants offense. Ideally he's going a round or two later, as it could be tough for him to match some of the top…

Taking advantage of uncertain WR rooms- NFC South and West

Carolina Panthers: Diontae Johnson (ADP: 70.1), Xavier Legette (ADP 141.3), Adam Thielen (ADP: 162.4), Jonathan Mingo (ADP: 215.7) Johnson: The Panthers brought in Johnson this offseason via trade and he should take over as Carolina's top offensive weapon. If the new offense can help get Bryce Young up to a good level, Johnson could be…

Taking advantage of Undefined WR Rooms in Best Ball- AFC West

Denver Broncos- Courtland Sutton (ADP-92.6), Troy Franklin (ADP-171.9), Marvin Mims Jr. - (ADP 180.9), Josh Reynolds (ADP-215.5) Sutton- Sutton is dealing with some contract issues, but most likely he's ready to roll when the season starts. He should be the clear cut number one on this team, and did great last year in Sean Payton's…

Favorite TE Targets at each section of Best Ball Drafts

Here are my top 2-3 targets in each area of Best Ball Drafts, broken up in First Third (Rounds 1-6), Second Third (7-12), and Final Third (13-18).   First Third: Travis Kelce (ADP: 39.3), Dalton Kincaid (ADP: 52), George Kittle (ADP: 67.3) Kelce: Kelce was considered a massive disappointment last year because despite finishing as…

Late Round Quarterbacks to Target this year in Best Ball

Whether you are looking for a second QB or a third QB, there are plenty of players to draft after the 10th round in Underdog drafts, after ADP 120. Here are my 8 favorite options to target in the back half of drafts. In watching our live drafts, you'll notice we do lean heavily into…

Taking Advantage of undefined WR rooms for Best Ball – AFC South

Houston Texans- Nico Collins (ADP- 18.1), Stefon Diggs (ADP-31.4), Tank Dell (ADP- 34.3) The Texans are a tough situation because overall this looks like a bright young offense, that should be top 10 if not top 5 in the league in scoring and yards. So of course we want not only Stroud and WR stacks,…

Taking Advantage of Undefined WR Rooms in Best Ball: AFC East and North

As we get into the heart of Best Ball season, we still have several teams where their wide receiver depth chart of the first couple of positions is very "murky" at best. This can lead to some clear values and inefficiencies to take advantage of, as well as some guys to maybe stay away from.…

Taking advantage of uncertain running back rooms- NFC

Dallas Cowboys backfield: Ezekiel Elliott (ADP: 128) and Rico Dowdle (ADP: 141.5) Though he's seen his ADP rise considerably since the start of the bestball season, Elliott is still going too low in drafts. The Cowboys have one of the best offenses in the league and Elliott is likely to be both the goalline back…

Taking advantage of uncertain Running Back rooms in Best Ball – AFC

Buffalo Bills Number 2 RB: Ray Davis (ADP- 157.7) vs Ty Johnson (ADP- 216) The Bills drafted Ray Davis in the 4th round and he's seen his ADP settle in this 12th-13th round range, with the assumption that he's the clear back-up and potentially goalline guy to James Cook. The problem with that is it's…

How should we value the Browns’ passing attack in Best Ball?

One of the toughest teams to evaluate heading into this Best Ball draft season is the Cleveland Browns, and in particular their passing game. Based purely on rankings it appears that there is clear value on WR Amari Cooper and TE David Njoku. Is that really the case though, as there are assumptions in those…
