LINEUP STRATEGY:
STEVE:
I’m playing this under the expectation that Aaron Jones, Christian Watson, and David Montgomery will all be playing in this game. If not, I do like Reed, and Wicks more. Also, if Watson is inactive, then I wouldn’t fade Doubs on the Packers’ side. On the Lions’ side, if Montgomery doesn’t go, I will play Gibbs more.
If all those players are in my take is generally going to be this. From the Packers, I will play some Jordan Love or Aaron Jones as my expensive Green Bay player, but I will pair them with a kicker or either a guy like Jayden Reed or Luke Musgrave. I don’t want too many Packers in my lineup as I can see them struggling in this game.
For the Lions I like this offense to come out firing with them scoring at least 3 TDs in this game. ASB, LaPorta, and Reynolds are all great stacking partners with Goff. Reynolds especially figures to be lower owned coming off a 0 game last week. Kalif Raymond is looking more and more like the number 3 in the offense. Gibbs is in play, but if the reports are good on Montgomery I might play him some to get really low ownership. If Monty takes back the goal line role you could get a 2 TD game at low ownership.
MEG:
This slate lacks value plays. There are basically zero viable punt plays, or any that I would click (unless Watson is ruled out). Even then, I don’t really like the punt plays. So as much as I like ASB or the QBs for raw points at captain, I’m looking at some mid-tier captains that could come low-owned like Sam LaPorta.
All offseason in best ball, I was obsessed with drafting LaPorta because he’s not your typical rookie tight end. He was stepping into the starting role with great usage and he has the talent to back it up. He went off for 22.4 DK points Sunday on 84 yards and one TD. If he runs that back tonight, you’re in a great spot. It allows you to get ASB, at least one of the QBs and not have to play any crazy punt plays.
The questionable players and lack of value make this slate tricky. But I’m not going to play a lot of the questionable guys even if they’re playing, and I’ll hope they are limited or not back to 100%.
Good luck tonight!
